Meet Our Amazing Antimicrobial Stewardship Trainers

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is a major global health challenge that threatens modern medicine. Resistant infections lead to longer hospital stays, increased medical costs, and higher mortality rates. In 2019, approximately 1.27 million deaths were directly linked to drug-resistant infections, and by 2050, this number could rise to 10 million annually. Additionally, AMR could cause a global economic loss of US$3.4 trillion per year and push millions into extreme poverty.

To combat AMR, healthcare providers must be equipped with the knowledge and tools to optimize antimicrobial use while minimizing resistance risks. As part of the OAZIS Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, our 10 CPD-accredited online courses provide clinicians and para-clinicians with:

  • A scientific understanding of AMR
  • Principles of antimicrobial prescribing and dispensing
  • A global health perspective on AMR and its implications

The Antimicrobial Stewardship Course for Healthcare Providers was developed by a multidisciplinary team of experts spanning One Health sectors and academia.
