Can treatment cause other health issues?

SIDE EFFECTS OF BREAST CANCER TREATMENT

Some breast cancer treatments can cause side effects that show up or persist months or years after treatment. Here we show you the most common among others.

Radiation therapy side effects: Short-term side effects may include fatigue, skin irritation, changes in skin color, and breast pain. Long-term effects can include spider veins (telangiectasias), changes in breast size, lymphedema, and persistent fatigue.

Chemotherapy side effects: These side effects depend on the drugs and treatment length. Common effects include tiredness, nausea, digestive issues, hair loss, appetite changes, and skin or nail changes. Most side effects go away after treatment, but some may last longer.
